The Soul Blankeet

The Soul Blanket

I made this blanket as I love geometric patterns and I wanted to incorporate this in the art of crochet. The colours are muted and calming but of course you can make this in any colour combo you like. Its an immediate pattern but still relatively easy. The size is 45″ x 65″ and made up in blocks of 16 squares. You can make it smaller or bigger as you wish. Most of the blanket is made up using the treble stitch (dc in US terms).

The pattern is illustrated and written using UK terminology.

You will need the following
3.5mm hook
7 different shades of yarn
Shade A (purple) uses more than the others – 400g
Shades, B, C, D, E, F (mustard, fuchsia, turquoise, denim & light pink) require 300g each
Shade G (light grey for border) require 100g
Please note these amounts are based on acrylic yarns if you choose more premium yarns then yardage per 100g may be less than an acrylic equivalent and you may need a little more.

This pattern is not hard to make: you will need to be familiar with the following techniques
trebles (trb)
double crochet (dc)
Increase (in)
slip st (sl st)
