Rudy Reindeer

Rudy Reindeer has his mistletoe ready this Christmas season and hoping Rosy might give him a peck on the cheek.  He is adorned with his festive polo neck jumper, long bobble hat, matching mittens and wellies and nordic inspired decorated shorts and braces.  He will make a welcome addition to your Christmas decorations.

Rudy is made using a DK wool on a 3.5mm hook Finished height is 15″

You will need
3.5mm & 4mm hook
Stitch marker
Toy stuffing
A pair of 10mm eyes
50g DK in Brown, Beige, Red, Green, White & Fair Isle effect yarn, I used 1 x King Cole Fjord 100g shade Festive 4921
Oddment of blush pink DK
Oddment of gold metallic thread
4 x little buttons
A little bit of cardboard

This pattern is not hard to make: you will need to be familiar with the following techniques.  These are using UK terms

Ch – chain
dc – double crochet (sc in US terms)
htr – half treble (hdc in US terms)
tr – treble (dc in US terms)
dtr – double treble (tr in US terms)
ttr – triple treble (dtr in US terms)
sl st – Slip stitch
BLO – back loop only
FLO – front loop only
inc – increase
invdec – invisible decrease (insert hook, yarn over, insert hook in next dc yarn over, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops)
Magic ring – this starting method gives a neat finish.
