Rosy Reindeer

Rosy and Rudy are best buddies, and she has her mitten over her mouth as Rudy has just surprised her by holding up mistletoe. Will she wont she??

She is adorned with her festive polo neck jumper, long bobble hat, matching mittens and wellies and nordic inspired decorated skirt.  She will make a welcome addition to your Christmas decorations.

Rosy is made using a DK.  Finished height is 14″

You will need
3.5mm & 4mm hook
Stitch marker
Toy stuffing
A pair of 10mm eyes
50g DK in Brown, Beige, Red, Green, White & Fair Isle effect yarn, I used 1 x King Cole Fjord 100g shade Festive 4921
Oddment of blush pink DK
Oddment of gold metallic thread
4 x little buttons
A little bit of cardboard

This pattern is not hard to make but you will need to have purchased the Rudy pattern in order to make her.

Below are the extra instructions needed to make her.

HEAD, SNOUT, NOSE & ANTLERS.
Follow in the instructions for Rudy.
Sew an extra eyelash to both her eyes

ROSY CHEEKS
Using 3.5mm hook and blush pink make a magic ring with 5 dc’s.  Sl st into the first st and fasten off.  Sew each cheek onto her face.

CHRISTMAS HAT
Use green fairisle DK as the main colour – follow the same instructions as Rudy for pattern

BODY
Follow the pattern below
Rounds 1 – 15 – same as Rudy in beige
Now change to Red fairisle dk and go straight to round 18 and follow the instructions for Rudy.
Rosy is slightly shorter than Rudy so thats why rounds 16-17 are omitted.

RIB FOR JUMPER
Use red fairisle DK as the main colour – follow the same instructions as Rudy for pattern

MITTENS
Use green DK as the main colour – follow the same instructions as Rudy for pattern

ARMS
Use red fairisle DK as the main colour – follow the same instructions as Rudy for pattern

SKIRT
Using red and 3.5mm hook ch 70
Sl st into first chain
Round 1 – 5 – dc into every st|
Follow the instructions from Round 6 – 16 as per the Rudy instructions

SKIRT DECORATION
(refer to the picture on left)
Using white DK add a row of running stitch going under one stitch and over another on the 4th row from the top.  Do the same again 3 rows under the first line of running stitch.  Make the star  inbetween this line.
Make another line of running stitch 3 rows under the star pattern.  Next make a line of criss crosses using two rows and then finally add one more line of running stitch.

When putting Rosy’s skirt on you dont leave any of her tummy showing

NO STRAPS NEEDED FOR ROSY

LEGS
It is the same as Rudy but only go to Round 16.  Again taking the last two rounds out to make her a little shorter

BOOTS
Same as Rudy

NO MISTLETOE OR BERRIES NEEDED

Finally when you have sewn Rosy together simply tack her mitten to her mouth.
